Job Overview:
The Surgical Practice Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a surgeon’s practice, including scheduling, patient communications, administrative tasks, and coordination with medical and insurance staff.
Key Responsibilities:
· Coordinate the surgeon’s clinic, surgery, and administrative schedules.
· Facilitate communication between patients, the surgeon, and medical staff.
· Obtain insurance authorizations and pre-certifications.
· Handle patient inquiries, appointment scheduling, and medical record management.
· Perform general office duties such as filing, correspondence, and maintaining office systems.
· Complete insurance, disability, and workers' compensation forms as needed.
· Assist with medical receptionist duties, including answering phones and screening calls.
Education & Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
· Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, including 1 year in a healthcare setting.
Skills & Abilities:
· Proficiency with EPIC EMR system.
· Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
· Ability to work effectively with patients, medical staff, insurance companies, and the public.
· Detail-oriented with the ability to handle sensitive information.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
